ON-DEVICE PROCESSING

TrueEdge: Edge AI Processing on Every Sensor

Every Omnisight device processes AI on the sensor itself, 20 times per second. No add-on, no SKU, no separate compute box. Just how our devices work.

Detection, classification, tracking, and alerts run locally on every FusionSensor, FusionBLADE, and HDV5 we ship, fused 20× per second, under 100ms response. No tier upgrade. No subscription required. Your data stays local, your decisions stay fast, your infrastructure stays simple.

WHY EDGE

Decisions on the device. Not the cloud.

Zero Latency

Sub-100ms detect, analyze, alert, and report. No round-trip to a server, no queue waiting for compute, the answer arrives before the event finishes.

No Cloud Required

Every inference runs on the device. Sensors keep detecting, classifying, and alerting even when the network is down, then sync the moment connectivity returns.

Data Sovereignty

Detections, video, and events stay on your network unless you choose to share them. No third-party data routing, no vendor lock-in on your data path.

No Bandwidth Tax

Stream only what you choose. No constant video uploads chewing through cellular plans, only the detections, classifications, and clips you actually want.

Lower Total Cost

Standard on every Omnisight device, never a separate purchase, never a tier upgrade. No edge servers, no processing PCs, no cloud compute bills. The sensor is the compute.

Built-In Resilience

Sensors keep processing even when network drops. Up to 2 TB of event data buffers locally and syncs back the moment connectivity returns. No outage equals no missed data.

EDGE VS. CLOUD

Different by design.

TRUEEDGE

On-device AI processing

Sub-100ms response, every time

Works fully offline, network outages don't stop detection

Data stays on your network unless you opt to share

No recurring compute fees, sensor is the compute

One capital cost, no per-inference invoicing

Local buffering means no missed events on reconnect

CLOUD-BASED

Server-side processing

200ms–1s+ round-trips through a remote server

Goes dark when the network drops

Every detection transits a third-party data path

Pay-per-inference scales with your fleet, forever

Compute fees grow as you grow

Single point of failure: the cloud vendor

WHERE IT RUNS

Every Omnisight product has built-in TrueEdge.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

TrueEdge questions.

How are AI models updated on TrueEdge devices?

Models push to the device via secure OTA updates through the Omnisight management portal, no on-site visits, no downtime. Devices stay running while the new model is downloaded and activated.

Where do detection results live?

On the device. Up to 2 TB of event data, classifications, video clips, and detection logs are stored locally on each sensor. The dashboard and your downstream systems are just consumers of data the sensor already has.

How is data secured on the device?

TrueEdge devices use signed firmware, encrypted management connections, and role-based access for configuration. Detection data never leaves your network unless you explicitly route it to a destination you choose.

If processing happens on-device, how are models trained?

Models are trained in-house by the Omnisight ML team and validated against real-world field data before being shipped to devices. Customers can opt in to contribute anonymized samples during improvement cycles, but it's never required.

Is TrueEdge a separate product or subscription?

Neither. TrueEdge is the on-device processing that runs on every Omnisight sensor by default, FusionSensor, FusionBLADE, HDV5. It's not a SKU, not a tier, not an upgrade. When you buy a sensor, TrueEdge is just how it works. Local detection runs 20 times per second whether you subscribe to any dashboard or not.
